Conversion of Glucose to Fructose
Aldohexose to Ketohexose (Glucose to Fructose)
Aldose reacts with excess of phenylhydrazine gives the corresponding osazone. The osazone is then hydrolysed with dilute HCl to give osone which on reduction with Zn and glacial acetic acid to give isomeric ketone of corresponding aldose.D-Glucose converted into D-Fructose by the following process-
