Kinetics of Thermal Decomposition of Ozone
The kinetic study of thermal decomposition of ozone is complicated by the fact that above a certain critical temperature the steady kinetic decomposition is transformed into explosion, subsequently passing to detonation. According to Thorp, ozone detonation is observed above 105°C. The gaseous ozone is characterized by different times of half-life, depending on the temperature. The decomposition of ozone is shown as-2 O3 → 3 O2
