Curtius raction is a thermal decomposition of acyl azide in an inert solvent to isocyanate. Curtius reaction is also known as Curtius degradation.
Isocyanates are subjected to attack by various nucleophiles namely alcohols, water, and amines which gives urethane, amine and urea derivative resectively.
